About Rob Lewis
There will be times, if caught with your eyes shut, you'll believe Phil Collins is singing to you and further times when you'll have to pinch yourself to recognise the fact that you are not in the presence of the great man himself.
The polished and exuberant tribute act to Phil Collins will have your foot tapping, dancing and untimately have you weeping in your seat.
Rob, in the business for close to 25 years, has the charisma and talent needed to make any event spark to life. He performs all the Phil Collins' favourites with a few Genesis songs thrown in for good measure.
Formerly of 'the Sharp Cuts' he has travelled the country, Europe and as far afield as Dubai. He has played at the Cork Jazz Festival, the "Heartbeat" TV series wrap party, Covent Garden, with Legends at the Grosvenor Hotel and many other prestigious venues and has appeared on Stars in their Eyes in February 2005.
With material for up to a 90 minute show, several costume changes and props you will not be disappointed. The standard, most popular one hour set consists of:
-
two genesis hits - the strange, atmospheric Mama and the quirky amusing I Can't Dance followed by Something Happened on the Way to Heaven to get us off to a tremendous start
-
on to cover the two big hits - Against All Odds and One More Night
-
kicking up the tempo a brilliant rendition of the Genesis' Jesus He Knows Me - a parody about American TV evangelists with a comical intro speech
-
bringing it down a little for Another Day in Paradise and the massive hit In the Air Tonight
-
going on to finish with the Supremes cover, You Can't Hurry Love, and the up beat and funky Easy Lover and Sussudio
-
the finale being the "Buster" soundtrack hits Two Hearts and Groovy Kind of Love
